Never been a huge fan of the ostrich. Then again, they just don't get many props for being a crazy, big-ass descendents of the dinosaurs. They're huge though! Ignore the red tint on the petting zoo pictures...we were under a red tent.

By the way, never get too close to a hungry Emu...they WILL peck your head (like they did mine).

They kids had a great time and it was set up really well with things to do of all ages.

I wasn't able to go but Carly said that the kids had a great time. I'm sure we'll be back. OH - I did get a giant bag of cotton candy...so that's a plus.

We found a trail that is about 30 minutes from the house and decided to take the kids out to see the desert. They had a blast. It was a beautiful day and the flowers were very pretty due to the 'wet' winter they've had.

We were almost to the car when Carly spotted a Gila Monster. Crazy.

A previous colleague from Concur invited us out to a spring training game out in Peoria. It's about an hour drive but it was worth getting out of the house and spending the day in the sun. The kids actually had a good time (a flushed and hot time) but sitting out in the grass and watching a game for $6 is hard to beat.
